The Boston North End Mission began in 1862 as the Hanover Home Mission Society, a Methodist affiliated chapel and sunday school, providing a variety of services from their building on North Street, including a temporary refuge for "wayward" women and a temporary home for children. The Children's Aid Association was formed by the merger of the Boston Children's Aid Society and the Boston Society for the Care of Girls in 1922. It merged with the Boston Children's Friend Society in 1960 to become the Boston Children's Services Association.
